Issued in Public Interest by Bizoso Consulta
Source: Official Updates from ustraveldocs.com
As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping you informed and visa-ready, Bizoso Consulta shares the following critical updates recently published by U.S. authorities for all F, M, J, and other nonimmigrant visa applicants. Please review carefully and take immediate action if needed.
✅ 1. Mandatory Social Media Visibility for F, M, and J Visa Applicants
Effective immediately, all applicants for F (student), M (vocational), and J (exchange visitor) visas are required to set their social media accounts to public. This allows U.S. authorities to conduct digital vetting and confirm applicant identity and admissibility under U.S. law.
Action Required: Adjust all privacy settings to “Public” before your interview.
⚠️ 2. Suspension of Visa Issuance for Certain Countries (National Security Directive)
As per a Presidential Proclamation effective June 9, 2025, entry and visa issuance are suspended or restricted for nationals of certain countries due to national security concerns.
-
Affected applicants may still submit applications and attend interviews, but visa issuance is not guaranteed.
-
The final decision will depend on security-based ineligibility.

📝 3. DS-160 Barcode Requirement – Effective May 1, 2025
To attend your visa interview, the DS-160 confirmation barcode (starts with “AA”) must exactly match the barcode used to schedule your appointment.
-
If the barcode doesn't match, you will be turned away at your interview.
-
Ensure your DS-160 number and appointment profile match.
📌 Update instructions available at ustraveldocs.com.
💳 4. Fee Validity Deadline – May 31, 2025
If you paid your visa application fee more than 365 days ago, and have not updated your DS-160 number yet:
-
You must update the barcode by May 31, 2025.
-
After this date, you’ll need to pay the fee again.
⏳ 5. Submit DS-160 at Least 2 Days Before Interview
Submit your completed DS-160 form at least 2 business days prior to your scheduled interview date.
This allows for proper system syncing and avoids delays in processing on the interview day.
🖥️ 6. New System Launch – Feb 8, 2025
A new U.S. visa processing system went live on February 8, 2025. Services were paused between Feb 5–7 for migration.
If your account or profile was created before February 8, you may need to take action to access or migrate your data. Important instructions are available at ustraveldocs.com.
🛑 7. Relief for Individuals Refused Under P.P. 9645
If you are from Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela, or Yemen and were denied a visa under Presidential Proclamation 9645 (between Dec 8, 2017, and Jan 20, 2021), you may be eligible for relief.
Check your eligibility and next steps via the official Court Order Relief Page.
